Karel S. Karpe

– Associate Director of Corporate and Foundation Relations

As a member of the NOD External Affairs team, Karel is responsible for the development and execution of the NOD’s philanthropic and corporate engagement goals through the identification and stewardship of funding streams. She is also responsible for the promotion of NOD’s Corporate Leadership Council through targeted outreach and programming.

Karel brings a skills in donor engagement, special event execution, fundraising planning, grant writing, and foundation engagement to NOD. She is a member of Women in Development, Partners in Policymaking and on advisory boards at several nonprofits focused on serving people with disabilities including Daniel’s Music Foundation, The Center for Family Support and CareDesign NY. She is also the co-founder of Self Direction NYC and co-administrator of the SDNYC Facebook Page.

Karel holds a B.A. in Economics from the State University of New York and a J.D. (cum laude) from Benjamin N. Cardozo School of Law.
